Success always begins with small steps. Whether you grow something significant depends on consistency, mindset, and a touch of luck.
In the past, I’ve fallen into the trap of letting my mind race ahead—dreaming big but skipping the vital foundational steps. I’d map out solutions, fast-track progress, and imagine results, all before truly starting the journey.
Over time, I’ve learned to appreciate slow and steady progress. Walking the Portuguese Camino in September taught me the value of showing up daily, embracing each step, and resisting the urge to rush.
In a world obsessed with quick success, it’s easy to feel like you need to build something big immediately. But in most cases, the speed of growth we think we need is far faster than what’s truly necessary—or even sustainable.
The early stages of any journey are where the magic happens. They’re an opportunity to learn, adapt, and set the foundation for long-term success. Rushing through this phase often means missing out on critical lessons that shape how you grow.
Focus on doing the right things early on. Build the habits, routines, and structures that align with your vision. Consistency and intentionality in these moments create the framework for achieving big dreams.
It’s not about how fast you get there—it’s about building something that lasts.
Master & the Apprentice:
Every journey begins with being a novice, and there’s a unique beauty in this phase. It’s a time for growth, experimentation, and learning without the weight of expectations.
One of the greatest blessings of starting out? Often, no one is paying attention. This gives you the freedom to make mistakes, learn from them, and refine your skills in the shadows.
Embrace this stage wholeheartedly—it’s where the foundation for success is built. Growth happens through trial, error, and persistence, so allow yourself the grace to stumble and the courage to keep moving forward.
Every expert was once a beginner. What matters is how you choose to use this time to shape your journey.
The Master is just the student who tried one more time.
Consistency:
“Start Small, Build Big” has become a personal mantra. It reminds me that creating something meaningful is a journey, not a sprint. Strong foundations are essential—they give you the stability to build something enduring.
By focusing on small, achievable goals, you make the process manageable. Breaking tasks into bitesize steps not only builds momentum but sets the stage for greater progress.
Every big idea starts small. The key is showing up every day and making it count.
Consistency is the key to making sure you can build big.
Evidence:
Small wins lead to confidence. Confidence leads to growth. Growth leads to greatness.
Every task you complete, every milestone you reach, builds a bank of evidence—a record of progress that silences doubt.
When you can look back and see undeniable proof of your efforts, your belief in what’s possible grows exponentially. Evidence fuels the drive to go further.
Build your bank of evidence. It’s the foundation for building big.
